It's almost summer in Vancouver, the flowers are blooming, the days are longer, it's warm enough to put away your winter coat and all I can think of is leaving town.
Doesn't help that I haven't had a vacation since Christmas because I took all my vacation time in the first half of my vacation year, which starts in May. (I really should hire a project manager for my life.) Now that I have vacation time again, I want to choose wisely.
So far here are the options I'm considering:
- There's talk of a San Diego surf trip with Dennis and Wayne. We're still debating when to go, checking prices and tossing around the idea of waiting until Dennis' friend is in town so we have free accommodations, even if that means slightly higher flights.
- Tan is going to Australia in December and has invited me to tag along. Flights are at the moment $1800, which, by the way, is $200 more than Tan's flight from Toronto and his flight stops in Vancouver to pick up/drop off passengers. How does that work??!
- There's always the option of waiting until December and taking a solo birthday trip away again, preferably somewhere warm, which is kinda appealing because it doesn't actually require any vacation time which is kinda nice.
- Stay-cations can be fun. I do have a new camera, so I could go be a tourist in my hometown. But I don't know that I'd necessarily feel all that relaxed at the end of it.
Now I just have to decide which one to actually go for...thoughts?
