The other day I was perusing the series of tubes looking for some inspiring blog material. I came across a site that suggested reviewing your previous posts, not so much for new material, but just to see how your writing style has changed and what you could do better.
As I started to peruse my previous posts, and amidst the slightly shocking realization that I've been at this whole blogging thing for almost a year, it hit me. I'm less funny!
Back in the day, I was writing short witty, sarcastic, entertaining, smile inducing snippets about my life. Now - they seem to have taken a turn towards the serious. I got to thinking about possible causes of said tragedy.
Maybe it's the lack of entertaining material. Entirely possible now that Justin has stopped drinking and I started having no life thanks to running. Maybe it's because life got busy and I no longer had the time to edit my posts 500 times before publishing them. Maybe it's the notion that I'm actually a serious person at heart, masquerading as an easy going quasi funny person.
I started to panic and re-think my whole existence in this comedic world I thought I was a part of. Let's face it, stand up comedy I won't be doing, but I thought I had my moments. Thankfully Jojo was to the rescue when she laughed at some random comment I made, thus promoting her to my comedic partner in crime simply because she thinks I'm funny, which is reason enough to keep her around. That and she likes to eat what I eat when we go out for lunch. :)
