Mexanese Mumbo Jumbo

Tuesday night, a few of us accompanied Streefy and Hayley from Two Girls One Cork to the YVR Wine Night. It was an intro to 20 wines by people who are in the wine industry. It was held at one of the antique stores along south Granville and they managed to pack quite a lot of people into such a small store, filled with antiques - and wine. Seems like an odd pairing to me but what do I know.

The 5 of us made our way through the 18 wines and 2 beers, discovered some new wines we each liked (Jojo, the red you liked is called Felino in case you forgot again), and got in some decent people watching time. According to Hayley, there were more men in attendance than usual, none catching my eye although a tall boy who dropped the f-bomb every other word did, according to Kmay, hit on me.

After having our fill of tasters, we decided to head to Salt for some more wine and a late night snack. As we enjoyed the tasty cheeses and meats, we debated often as to the next step in our evening. We were supposed to head down to the venue where our christmas party is being held to see the decor that could be used for our party. After deciding we weren't going to go, to realizing we should make an appearance or we'd have a diva to deal with, to being on the fence, we ended up going for one drink.

Unfortunately the projector was broken so we couldn't see the decor and they were playing house music that was cranked, both of which managed to kill our buzz and we subsequently left without finishing our drinks.

A poor finish to what was a great night. Next time, I think we'll deal with the diva.
